Contact: Richard Buck JBA excels in all aspects of water engineering schemes, from strategy studies and initial hydraulic modelling through to preparation of contract documentation and site supervision. Our Engineering Studies core skill areas include:
Our team is fully conversant with the requirements of funding and regulatory bodies and appreciate the need for comprehensive economic analysis and environmental appraisal. Appropriately designed modelling is essential and as a result JBA integrate the appraisal process to deliver effective and robust examination of the options available to manage flood risks to acceptable levels. Traditional solutions have their place but JBA's exposure to the new delivery landscapes in Flood management means that its engineers can blend and integrate structural and non structural responses into a seamless solution. JBA prides itself in recognizing the role of flood risk manager in driving its FRM projects, and the supporting skills from emergency planners, flood warning specialists, and social scientists who work on recovery and vulnerability assessments. Our environmental team are solution orientated and provide valuable advice to enhance measures. We undertake asset management activities including assessment of condition, determination of operational criticality and scoping of refurbishment works. The Group is skilled in the design of hydraulic structures, and river engineering works. Our hydraulic design expertise can also be applied to erosion protection and drainage improvements. JBA is able to arrange for inspections to be carried out of reservoirs, as required by the Reservoirs Act of 1975. Inspections are undertaken by qualified members of the Supervising Engineer's Panel. The inspections comprise a visit to the site, examination of previous statements and records, and preparation of a Statement, as required by Section 12 (2) of the Act. The Group has a fully trained Confined Spaces Team who undertake internal inspections of manholes, culverts and chambers. |
